Service & Equipment
Augerex - Mineral Exploration Auger Drilling: Being owner/operators we have the utmost commitment and understanding that our clients need to be confident the sample we have collected is of absolute integrity, and that the sample we have collected can be accurately pinpointed to a single location on the ground, and in many instances from a precise location/zone within the ground. During the past few years we have collected tens of thousands of auger samples combining the auger sampling process with various conceptual geochemical ideas as requested by our clients.

Our rig is an Edson auger drill mounted on the ever reliable Toyota HZJ75 series Landcruiser. The auger drill has enough power and capability to drill through a few metres of the tough and tight Pilbara hardpans. The Landcruiser has been equipped to complete each day’s work with a minimum of fuss. It has been through some of the thickest bush at Forrestania day-in day-out without fail, whilst it can still easily traverse around the Pilbara desert country and the sand dune country of the north-eastern goldfields.

For safety and efficiency, on board the auger rig ute is equipped with a handheld mobile satellite phone GPS and SOS button equipped, handheld mobile gps personal/vehicle tracking equipment, a first aid kit, a handheld mobile EPIRB (with GPS locator), 2 x 4.5kg handheld mobile fire extinguishers, an emergency stop button on the auger rig, a CB two-way, a computer download compatible gps (with an external aerial if needed), a bullbar mounted winch, and vehicle recovery equipment.
For smaller satellite programmes that might need to be completed or for areas that have terrain that might not be suitable to get the base camp into, a camper trailer, an auxiliary light vehicle (a HZJ75 Landcruiser trayback), and a quad bike can be provided.

Our base camp caravan doubles as a mobile office. The base camp is equipped with an industrial first aid kit and a redeployable satellite communications system along with a printer and scanner. Thus we are easily able to send and receive the required data during the auger programme and access email at the end of each day to update progress or received updated instructions.
Collected auger samples are dispatched as frequently as required according to the client’s requirements. In many instances and if logistically possible, our auger samples have been hand delivered to the laboratory of your choice so as to eliminate any third party handling errors.
